Former Barcelona footballer arrested for shooting in Brazil parking lot

Former Barcelona defender Douglas Santos has been arrested for illegal use of firearms in Brazil, according to Globo Esporte.
According to the publication, the incident occurred on April 21 this year, but the police made it public a month later. The 32-year-old, who is away from the club, fired a .380 caliber weapon into the air in a public parking lot in Brasilia.
Douglas and his wife took a speedboat trip on the lake. There were several other people on the boat, they were drinking alcohol, after returning to the shore, Santos fired a shot into the air.
The player put the weapon and unused ammo in a bag that he tried to hide in the bushes near the parking lot. The officers noticed Santos and interrogated him, initially the footballer denied the fact of the shooting, but later admitted it. The case is pending before the 5th Criminal Court of Brazil.
Douglas Santos also played for Sporting Gijon, Benfica, Sivasspor, Besiktas, and played for the Brazilian youth team.
Douglas spent two years in the Catalan club, but played only 8 games.
