Former Krasnodar midfielder Yevgeny Shipitsin told Euro‑Football.Ru that Lokomotiv made the right move by extending the contract of striker Artem Dziuba.
– This is natural, Dziuba deserved a contract extension. I heard he had other options. With him, Lokomotiv, of course, gave out the second part of the championship in general. And, I think, he is still quite ready to help for more than one season, even, one might say, to drag the team. Dzyuba was in vain written off ahead of time. I think Lokomotiv made the right move,” the expert said.
In November 2022, Dziuba, by mutual agreement of the parties, terminated the contract with the Turkish club Adana Demirspor, for which he had been playing since August. In February, the striker became a Lokomotiv player. For the team, he played 11 matches in all competitions, scored eight goals and assisted partners four times.
On Thursday, Dziuba signed a new contract with the Red-Greens until the end of the 2023/24 season with the possibility of an extension for another season.
