“You can delete a message, but you can’t erase history.” The Russian national team reacted to the removal of the Arsenal post with congratulations to Arshavin
The press service of the Russian national football team responded to the London Arsenal after the club deleted a post on Twitter congratulating ex-football player Andrei Arshavin on his birthday.
Earlier Monday, Arsenal congratulated Arshavin by tweeting a video of the player playing poker against Liverpool at Anfield in 2009. A few hours later, the club removed the video and congratulations.
“You can delete a post, but you can’t erase your history,” the national team said in a statement in English. The Russian team attached a screenshot of Arsenal’s deleted post to the publication.
Arshavin played for the London club from 2009 to 2013. The Russian played 144 matches, scored 31 goals and made 46 assists.
