The youth national football team of Russia feels confident at the international level. The proof is the game at the BRICS Cup, where our guys have already won two victories. And they beat not just anyone, but the Brazilians.

The BRICS U-17 Cup takes place in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Six Brazilian clubs participate in it, as well as the youth team of Russia and Zenit from St. Petersburg. The final of the tournament is scheduled for June 2. For our teams, this is, first of all, the most important international experience, which has been so lacking lately.
– We are very glad that we will take part in this tournament. Of course, we wanted more teams to compete, not clubs. Nevertheless, this is a rather important event for us, because lately we have mainly played with teams from neighboring countries. It’s quite a long way out, another level. For us, this is an important tournament for gaining international experience, – said the head coach of the team Denis Pervushin to the press service of the RFU before the start of the competition.
In theory, both teams from Russia can play each other in the final. Zenit in its group has all the chances for the playoffs, and our youth team has already secured a way out of the group.
Separately, it is worth noting that the Russian team plays under its own flag, and if it wins the tournament, the national anthem will be played for it. The same goes for Zenith. In the current circumstances, this certainly motivates the players to show their maximum.
The most curious
In the second match of the group stage, the Russians born in 2006 met with their peers from Nacional. The teams started differently at the BRICS Cup: if our team confidently beat Flamengo (2:0), then Nacional lost to Corinthians – 1:2.

RFSIt seemed that the Brazilians would impose a fight on the Russian team: the second defeat blocked their path to the title, and there was nowhere to retreat. But the class of teams turned out to be too different. The Russians completely and completely dominated Nacional, methodically rolling out the opponent. The only chance for the Brazilians was at the beginning of the first half, but our goal was saved by the crossbar. On this fuse of the owners dried up.
Even before the break, Denis Pervushin’s team scored four times: Artyom Korneev (twice), Kirill Volkov and Vadim Pastushkov scored goals at their own expense. In the second half, Andrei Ivlev and Victor Okishor scored, and Nacional brought the seventh ball to himself. The episode with the own goal turned out to be as curious as possible: the Brazilian defender “lit a candle” in his own penalty area, and the ball, falling on the goal line, bounced into the net. Moreover, the goalkeeper closely followed him, but still failed to repel the “hit from the sky”.
As a result – a crushing victory of the Russian team with a score of 7:0. This result provided the team with access to the semi-finals of the tournament. But before that, there will be a third match of the group – our guys will play it on May 31 with Corinthians, which also retains chances for the title.

“The resistance was good”
In the Russian team, the second game is not considered easy, despite the score. This opinion was expressed by the author of one of the scored goals Victor Okishor.
– The resistance was good, I would not call it an easy game. It’s great that we used the scoring chances so well and showed high-quality football,” Okishor told the press service of the Russian Football Union (RFU).
The team’s coach Denis Pervushin, in turn, noted the not very high quality of the pitch at the Nicolau Alayon stadium.
– The game was rather difficult at first, before the first goal there were “swings”. An early goal, of course, influenced the course of the game, it became much easier for us. Today it was a difficult field, but even on it the opponent showed that technique is the “horse” of Brazilian football, ”Pervushin quotes the official website of the RFU.
