Gabulov called wrong the decision of the RFU not to collect the players of the Russian national team in June

Former CSKA goalkeeper and former general director of Khimki Vladimir Gabulov considers it wrong to celebrate the June gathering of players from the Russian national team.

Earlier, Match TV, citing RFU Secretary General Maxim Mitrofanov, said that the Russian national team would not have training camps until autumn.

— I don’t know what the cancellation of the June training camp of the Russian national team is connected with. Most likely, it is connected with the fact that there is no one to play with. Previously, we refused to play in the tournament in Central Asia: it’s hard for me to judge what the real reasons were.

I think the coaching staff, which is involved in one of the RPL clubs, decided not to collect the players in order to give them the opportunity to go on vacation and rest so that they do not have an overload. Although what can be an overload? Under these conditions, it was necessary to participate in the tournament and conduct a training camp. For the country and the fans, the matches of the Russian team are necessary.

Football players also need a national team, because now they play only in the domestic arena – they boil in their own juice. And here was a great opportunity to participate in an international tournament. I think not to collect players in June is the wrong decision of the RFU, Gabulov told the Championship.

In April, the Russian national team refused to participate in the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) championship, which will be held from June 9 to 21.
