Orenburg Costa Rican midfielder Jimmy Marin admitted that he was not opposed to obtaining Russian citizenship for a comfortable life in the country.
– Finally, I managed to transfer my mother, wife and daughter to Orenburg. We are now having a wonderful time in such a wonderful country as Russia.
Are you considering getting a Russian passport in the future?
– If you take citizenship to play for the Russian national team, then no – I have already played for the Costa Rica team. However, for the sake of a comfortable life in Russia, there is no problem for me to get a Russian passport. My family and I are comfortable in your country and enjoy living in Orenburg,” Marin told Sport24.
Marin moved to Orenburg from Sapriss in July 2022. The 25-year-old has made 25 appearances this season, scoring 7 goals and making 5 assists.
Orenburg scored 43 points and occupies eighth place in the WORLD RPL standings. In the final round, the Urals will play Dynamo at home on June 3.
