Georgy Shchennikov will leave CSKA at the end of the season
Defender Georgy Shchennikov will leave CSKA at the end of the season as a free agent, the press service of Muscovites reports.
The player’s agreement expires on June 30. Earlier, the head coach of the army team, Vladimir Fedotov, explained to Match TV the club’s decision not to renew the contract with the 32-year-old football player with a post-traumatic decrease in functionality.
– The game with Rostov will be Georgy Shchennikov’s last home game for CSKA, the Red-Blues said in a statement.
Shchennikov is a three-time champion of Russia, a three-time winner of the Russian Cup and a four-time winner of the Russian Super Cup. He also participated in the national team at the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 European Championship.
