Vera: “Russia is a very good place to start playing in Europe”
Orenburg Argentine midfielder Lucas Vera told Metaratings.ru that he considers Russia a good place to start a career in Europe.
– Is this your best season in your career?
“This season, I did everything I planned. Before coming here, everything was different for me. I tried not to look back. I got to know the club and took the chance to play in the Russian Premier League. And everything seemed to work out well. It’s a wonderful experience.
“So you made the right decision a year ago?”
— Absolutely. In Russia, of course, the quality of life is better than in Argentina. It’s a completely different atmosphere here. Orenburg is a quiet city that completely immerses you headlong into work. The perfect place so you can focus on the game and forget about everything.
Let’s talk a little about your future. You marked that you want to play in a top club.
– Every good season makes you rise higher, pumps you. Speaking of me, I spent the season well enough to try myself in a stronger club in the Russian Championship, and then you need to try to move to the top championship. To start playing in Europe, Russia is a very good place. This applies not only to the football players who come here, but also to local guys,” Vera said.
The 26-year-old Argentine has made 29 appearances this season, scoring 1 goal and making 6 assists.
Orenburg scored 43 points and occupies eighth place in the WORLD RPL standings. In the final round, the Urals will play Dynamo at home on June 3.
