Sergey Ovchinnikov, head of the coach training department at the RFU Academy, said that cardinal changes had taken place in coaching education.
“The educational process has changed dramatically. We started from international directives and standards, but at the same time, of course, we also comply with the educational requirements of our country. Let’s not forget about the good traditions of the Soviet coaching school. It was possible to reorganize the learning process according to the modern model, which is used in the leading football countries. An individual approach to students is important, and training should also be more interactive. In my opinion, if this is relevant and in demand in today’s world, why should we be an exception? Ovchinnikov told Sport Day by Day.
