“If a 22-year-old boy could rise up against a hostile mob, then we can and must do more” – President of Brazil put Vinicius as an example in an address to forum participants at the UN

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva cited Real Madrid player Vinicius Júnior as an example of the fight against racism in a video address to the United Nations Forum for People of African Descent.

Vinicius was repeatedly insulted by the fans. The last such incident occurred at the Mestalla stadium during the match of the 35th round of the championship of Spain against Valencia (0:1). The meeting was suspended after the 22-year-old Brazilian urged the referee to pay attention to the behavior of the fans. After the match, Vinicius wrote on social media that “racism in La Liga is a common thing.”

Due to the incident, the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) decided to close the Mestalla stand for several matches, the police detained three suspected insults. Valencia were also fined.

“The lesson we have learned from these unforgivable episodes is that if Vinicius Junior, 22, is able to rise up against a hostile mob, there is no doubt that we can and must do more to stop this discouraging cycle of violence.” the President of Brazil said.

Bulykin named the position that Spartak needs to strengthen

Former Russian national football player Dmitry Bulykin expressed his opinion on how Spartak could strengthen during the winter window.

What kind of player does Spartak need in the winter transfer window? First of all, another goalscoring striker. They are already in a good position and can fight for the championship, but due to the atmosphere in the team there were disagreements.

Now we need a good coach who unites them with a single goal and task. If I were in Spartak, I would find another goalscoring striker in the winter and fight for the championship.

Amorim explains Casemiro’s surprise substitution against Newcastle

Mentor Manchester United Reuben Amorim he said he replaced the midfielder Casemiro during the 1–0 win over Newcastle United because he felt the Brazilian would “struggle” with the intensity of the second half.

Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte formed United’s midfield duo in the absence of Bruno Fernandes, who missed the match with a hamstring injury, but Amorim replaced the Brazilian with Leni Yoro in the 61st minute.

After seeing his number on the substitution board, Casemiro pointed to himself and was disappointed with Amorim’s decision to replace him so early in the match.

Asked to explain Casemiro’s substitution, Amorim replied: “At that moment I didn’t want to shoot [Матеуса] Cunho because he is the only one who allows us to be creative and I put him in position number 10. Jack [Флетчер] it was fresh and could continue, Manu [Угарте] he was cooler than Casemiro. In the end we decided to replace him because they were making a lot of quick passes and I felt that at that point he would have difficulty.”
