The defender of the St. Petersburg “Zenith” Robert Renan, who plays for the youth national team of Brazil, on social networks reported insults against him on the basis of racism.
According to Renan, he began to receive messages with insults after the 1/8 finals of the World Youth Championship against the team of Tunisia – 4:1. The player received a red card in the 45th minute of the meeting. The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) sent an appeal to the International Football Federation (FIFA) in protest.
– CBF strongly condemns any discriminatory actions in football and will not tolerate such cases in sports. The latest incident of racist slurs occurred on Wednesday in a match against Tunisia. After leaving the field of the Ciudad de La Plata stadium, Renan was provoked by the local crowd and reacted in a sporting manner.
On social networks, the Brazilian footballer was the victim of racist insults. The CBF has studied the profiles of the perpetrators, they will be sent to the local court and FIFA with a demand to apply punishment, the CBF website said in a statement.
