Manchester City striker Erling Holland failed to register his name as a trademark.

The player was reported to have submitted three applications. The first was about his signature, the second was about celebrating in the lotus position, and the third was about the Erling Holland brand. The first applications were approved without problems, but the third was not accepted. It turned out that last year a 29-year-old man from Oslo had already registered the attacker’s name as a trademark in order to use it to sell clothes, shoes and other things. The Norwegian has three months to appeal the decision, and the player can also sue the current owner of the brand, or redeem the rights to use it.
