Jikia could receive a four-match ban for swearing at referee

The defender of the Moscow “Spartak” Georgy Jikia may be suspended for a period of two to four matches for obscene insults against the referee Alexei Amelin in the match of the 30th round of the WORLD of the Russian Premier League (RPL).

On Saturday, Spartak lost to Krylya Sovetov in the final round of the Russian Championship with a score of 0:1.

Jikia did not get into the starting lineup of the Red-Whites and started the game on the bench. In the 42nd minute, the defender ran onto the field after a foul by Spartak player Ruslan Litvinov, expressing disagreement with the decision of the referee Amelin to show his teammate a yellow card.

Amelin, after a hint from the reserve referee Jan Bobrovsky, showed Jikia a “yellow card”, but the defender continued to speak in the direction of the referee, for which he received a direct red card and was sent off.

According to the regulations of the Russian Football Union, Jikia faces a suspension of two to four RPL matches. In addition, the player can be fined from 200 thousand to 500 thousand rubles.

Bulykin named the position that Spartak needs to strengthen

Former Russian national football player Dmitry Bulykin expressed his opinion on how Spartak could strengthen during the winter window.

What kind of player does Spartak need in the winter transfer window? First of all, another goalscoring striker. They are already in a good position and can fight for the championship, but due to the atmosphere in the team there were disagreements.

Now we need a good coach who unites them with a single goal and task. If I were in Spartak, I would find another goalscoring striker in the winter and fight for the championship.

Amorim explains Casemiro’s surprise substitution against Newcastle

Mentor Manchester United Reuben Amorim he said he replaced the midfielder Casemiro during the 1–0 win over Newcastle United because he felt the Brazilian would “struggle” with the intensity of the second half.

Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte formed United’s midfield duo in the absence of Bruno Fernandes, who missed the match with a hamstring injury, but Amorim replaced the Brazilian with Leni Yoro in the 61st minute.

After seeing his number on the substitution board, Casemiro pointed to himself and was disappointed with Amorim’s decision to replace him so early in the match.

Asked to explain Casemiro’s substitution, Amorim replied: “At that moment I didn’t want to shoot [Матеуса] Cunho because he is the only one who allows us to be creative and I put him in position number 10. Jack [Флетчер] it was fresh and could continue, Manu [Угарте] he was cooler than Casemiro. In the end we decided to replace him because they were making a lot of quick passes and I felt that at that point he would have difficulty.”
