Kanchelskis named two clubs that can compete with Zenit in the RPL

Former striker of the Russian national team Andrey Kanchelskis expressed the opinion that CSKA and Spartak are able to compete with Zenit in the next season of the Russian championship, but subject to a qualitative strengthening of the squad.
– What should CSKA do to be better than Zenit next season?
– I’m not the president of the CSKA football club, I don’t know what’s going on inside the team. First you need to beat Zenit in the championship (laughs) is very difficult to do. Let’s call a spade a spade. While Zenit just has a stronger squad, it’s true. To be higher than Zenit, you need to have a cooler and stronger squad. In addition to CSKA, only Spartak can compete with Zenit, but today it is difficult to lure high-class football players to Russia, ”Euro‑Futbol.Ru quoted Kanchelskis as saying.
At the end of the 2022/23 season, RPL Zenit won gold, CSKA came second, and Spartak closed the top three.
