Ex-Liverpool player witnesses knife attack on children in France
Former Liverpool striker Anthony Le Tallec witnessed a man attack children with a knife in the French Alps, Talk Sport reports citing Dauphine Libere.
The incident took place on Thursday morning in Annecy. At least six people were injured, four of them children, some of the victims are in hospital in critical condition. According to Le Figaro, the attack was carried out by a man born in 1991. The attacker was detained, he is a Syrian citizen who received asylum in Sweden.
He wanted to attack everyone. I was moving away, and he rushed at the old man and the woman and hit the man with a knife, – said 38-year-old Le Tallec, who was jogging through the park.
Le Tallec played for the French Auxerre, Saint-Etienne and Annecy, the English Liverpool and Sunderland, in 2021 he retired from playing. His brother Damien played in Russia for Mordovia and Torpedo.
