Ural President Grigory Ivanov said that the future of Yekaterinburg midfielder Oleg Shatov will depend on his recovery from injury.
Shatov, 32, has not played since November last year due to an injury.
– Shatov is now recovering. God bless him for everything! If he recovers, he will continue to play. If he doesn’t get better, he will make the decision himself. You need to ask Oleg about this. I think that he has not finished his career and can still play. Whether he will be with us in the new season depends on his recovery,” Ivanov told Sport24.
Shatov played for the team from 2007 to 2011 before returning to Ural in 2022. On account of Shatov 139 game minutes in five matches of the championship and the Cup of Russia last season. Earlier, the footballer told Match TV that he was not thinking about ending his career.
Ural scored 36 points and took 11th place in the WORLD RPL standings in the 2022/23 season.
