The trophy from the hands of the President of the Russian Football Union Alexander Dyukov was received by the captain of the Moscow club Igor Akinfeev.
In the decisive match of the tournament, the Moscow club defeated Krasnodar. Regular time ended with the score 1:1. In the penalty shootout, the army team turned out to be more accurate – 6:5.
CSKA won the Russian Cup for the eighth time. The last time the Moscow club won the trophy was in the 2012/13 season.
The capital’s army team became rivals of the St. Petersburg “Zenith” in the match for the Russian Super Cup, which will open the 2023/24 football season in Russia.
