Former AC Milan owner and Monza president Silvio Berlusconi dies
Monza President Silvio Berlusconi has died at the age of 86, according to ANSA news agency.
The former Prime Minister of Italy died of chronic leukemia, which he suffered for a long time. Berlusconi was hospitalized in Milan last week.
Since 1986, Berlusconi has been the owner of Milan, but in 2016 he sold a controlling stake in the football club to Chinese investors.
Berlusconi bought Monza in 2018 for 3 million euros through the family holding company Fininvest. Under his leadership, the club advanced to Serie A.
