Netherlands and Croatia here is the first finalist of its 2023 edition UEFA Nations League. Two of those who were great cheerleaders at the last World Cup and curiously knocked out in successive stages by Argentina, will face off in a one-to-one final match against Italy or Spain, who play a day later.
To reach this duel, both countries won their respective zones in the group stage. The Netherlands were the best picked in the first round: the only unbeaten, won 5 games and drew 1 in the 4th group they shared Belgium (which he led by six points), Poland and Wales. They were by far the team with the most goals on that occasion, with 14 goals in just 6 games, although they scored 8, more than 1 per game on average.
Croatia, for its part, won a very difficult group 1 before the powerful France (by the end of the phase she was still the world champion, although she performed very poorly in this tournament) and other tough opponents such as Denmark and Austria.
This is the second time for the Dutch team in the defining example of the Final Four: in the inaugural edition, in the 2018-2019 season, they reached the final but lost it to Portugal (0-1). The Croats for their part have never gone this far in the two Nations Leagues they have contested.
