Former Lokomotiv Moscow president Olga Smorodskaya believes that fear prevented Krasnodar players from beating CSKA in the penalty shoot-out in the FONBET Russian Cup Superfinal.
On Sunday, CSKA won the Russian Cup. The main time of the meeting, held at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, ended with a score of 1:1, in the penalty shootout the army team turned out to be more accurate – 6:5. CSKA goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev parried two shots.
– The Russian Cup Superfinal between Krasnodar and CSKA turned out to be interesting. Both teams tried very hard and wanted to win – it was evident. Of course, it’s a pity for Krasnodar, but you can’t be afraid when taking a penalty, even when Akinfeev is standing in front of you. It was clear that the players lost in advance: they went out to beat from the “point” with fear in their eyes. And Akinfeev – well done, confident in himself, – said Smorodskaya “Championship”.
CSKA won the Russian Football Cup for the eighth time in history.
