Dynamo veteran Alexei Petrushin told Euro‑Futbol.Ru that Dynamo Deputy General Director for Sports Zeljko Buvac is the reason why the Moscow club opts for foreign coaches.
– Do you think a coach like Lichka is suitable for Dynamo?
– Judging by the work in Orenburg, this season he created a good team. True, this is mostly a home team. But at home it was easier for them to play on artificial turf than for the teams that come there. Still, Orenburg trained on synthetics. And on the road, the team did not perform so well, although they did not deviate from their style. It is clear that Lichka achieved results with Orenburg, but different coaches came to Dynamo. They took Jokanovic, and what results did we see?
– But before him was Schwartz, who worked successfully.
– Yes, Schwartz successfully worked with the Blue and White, but he went to Germany and failed there. Therefore, I consider the invitation of Lichka as fifty-fifty.
– Do you think Lichka will be expected to play his team right away? That is, they will not give time to build up and build a game?
– It largely depends on how long the contract will be signed. If it is long-term, this is one thing, but if it is a year plus an extension, then the management will judge by the next season. In general, paying compensation for terminating a contract is too expensive. I don’t know who is negotiating from Lichka’s side. This is also important.
– Why do you think the team again paid attention to a foreign coach, is this already a trend?
– We must not forget who in Dynamo is the Deputy General Director for Sports. This must be taken into account. I immediately said that none of the Russian coaches would appear at Dynamo while Zeljko Buvac was working there. It is clear that he will look for a foreign specialist. Although there was information that negotiations were underway with Slutsky. But I didn’t believe in it. But Nikolic, I think, could come, but something did not grow together.
In May, Dynamo announced the parting with Serb Slavisa Jokanovic, who led the Blue and White since last summer. Dynamo ended the season under the leadership of Pavel Alpatov. In the championship of Russia the team took the 9th place.
