Zhirkov has all the necessary coaching qualities, says Gazzaev
Former head coach of CSKA Valery Gazzaev admitted that he wants to see ex-football player of the Russian national team Yuri Zhirkov as a professional coach.
– To become a great coach, first you need to forget that you are a football player. This is primarily influenced by the psychological aspect. Yuri Zhirkov throughout his career has demonstrated a very high level of skill and professionalism. That is why he played football until the age of 38. He has everything ahead of him.
It is also important to note that Yuri is an offensive player. And if you analyze it, then for the most part it is attack players who become good coaches. These are attacking midfielders, forwards. Many great coaches can be cited as an example. I will not give specific examples: there are too many of them.
So Yuri has all the necessary qualities to become a coach. He always took a very responsible approach to every lesson, to every match. Therefore, I want to wish him creative success. I want Yuri Zhirkov to become a real professional coach, ”Gazzaev told RT.
In February, 39-year-old Zhirkov retired from football. Zhirkov is a five-time champion of Russia, a six-time winner of the Cup and Super Cup of the country, winner of the championship, Cup and Super Cup of England, winner of the UEFA Cup. With the national team, he became the bronze medalist of Euro 2008. The footballer played for CSKA, Khimki, Dynamo Moscow, Anzhi Makhachkala, Zenit St. Petersburg and Chelsea London.
