Diveev: “You need confidence in penalties, why be afraid of them?”
CSKA defender Igor Diveev said that confidence is important in penalty kicks.
Diveev converted his shot in the penalty shoot-out in the FONBET Russian Cup Superfinal against Krasnodar. The main time of the meeting ended with the score 1:1, and in the penalty shootout the army team turned out to be stronger – 6:5.
– You need confidence in penalties, but why be afraid of them? I wanted to hit the left corner – I hit there. The main thing is to get into the gate. Got it, and there, well, the goalkeeper would have beaten off, what can you do? Don’t pull this out? Maybe, – said Diveev “Championship”.
CSKA previously signed a new contract with 23-year-old Diveev until 2028. Diveev played 27 games last season, scoring two goals and making one assist. In total, since 2019, he has played 133 matches for the army team, scoring 11 goals. The player took part in 14 matches for the Russian national team.
