Lokomotiv defender Maxim Nenakhov said that under the guidance of German managers, the team did not play any tactical schemes.

— German rule? I will speak for myself. There was a mistake that we did not have enough physical conditions. The German specialists had the easiest training camps, we didn’t run much, everything was through the ball, but it didn’t work. Everyone played for himself, we did not play any tactics. There was no single ideology,” Match TV quoted Nenakhov as saying.

In October 2022, Lokomotiv dismissed head coach Josef Zinnbauer and sports director Thomas Zorn, ending the period of management of the team’s sports block by German specialists. After Yury Nagornykh became the chairman of the board of directors of the club, and Mikhail Galaktionov became the head coach, Lokomotiv managed to rise from the joint zone, 14th place, and ended the season in 8th position.
