Premier League blocks Chelsea’s sponsorship deal with US streaming service

The English Premier League has banned Chelsea from making an American streaming service their new title sponsor, according to the Daily Mail.

Chelsea’s talks with streaming service Paramount Plus have reached an advanced stage.

However, the Premier League did not allow the London club to sign an agreement due to fears that this deal could harm the organizers of broadcast matches of the English championship Sky Sports and BT Sport. The ban on the implementation of such transactions is spelled out in the contract of each club with the league.

Instead, Chelsea are now in talks with the betting company despite a looming betting sponsorship ban.

Chelsea are looking to replace mobile network Three, whose three-year sponsorship deal with the club expired this summer.
