Zenit midfielder Andrey Mostovoy said that he was annoyed by the way the video assistance system for referees (VAR) is used in Russia.
“It looks strange to me what is happening this year. Like VAR was introduced, there should be fewer questions about everything. But here it is different.
– Why so many judicial scandals?
“One of the main reasons is that the rules just change all the time. It used to be that a ball hits from a foot into a hand – this does not count. Now it counts again.
VAR infuriates me more when there is a foul, and you stand and wait for two minutes. And in Europe 10 seconds and that’s it. We play next. I don’t understand why the judges who are sitting at the TV can’t say that there is, they say, a foul. I think judges rely a lot on VAR. You already appoint. What will be will be.
Are you against VAR?
“I wouldn’t say I’m against it. But I am in favor of using it correctly, and not just waiting like this for two minutes to stand, ”Match TV quotes Mostovoy.
Last season, 25-year-old Mostovoy won the Russian championship with Zenit and became the owner of the country’s Super Cup. On account of his 8 goals in 37 matches in all competitions.
