While Fedor Chalov, the third scorer of last season and the winner of the Russian Cup with CSKA, was walking the streets of Rome on vacation, rumors began to spread: Chalov was moving to Galatasaray, negotiations were proceeding rapidly. Only two weeks have passed since the Turkish club through the mouth of the insider Gozen Dokuz again announced an agreement with Arsen Zakharyan. And this is after the February “deal” announced by the same well-informed source did not take place. Denials of both news followed immediately.
But where do these constant information attacks come from?
A brisk trade in the “air of freedom”
Interest in Zakharyan could have disappeared from Chelsea, but not from the football market as a whole. Transitions in this market are the main source of income for agents. Therefore, there is every reason to suspect intermediaries of various kinds in the production of a large share of transfer news. Clubs have only official ways to negotiate, and the general algorithm has long been known and does not change: first, a request to the club, and only after that, contacts with the player.
No requests were reported to Dynamo. Speech in the latest news about Zakharyan was only that his family no longer objects to the football player moving to Turkey. Interested rumor producers seem to be building a reality that is beneficial to them: Dynamo failed the season, the British no longer need Zakharyan, he is becoming more accommodating, and there are still people in Turkey who remember him and are ready to take care of him.
There is not just a rumor about the transition – a picture or a chain of interconnected phenomena is drawn, an “ecosystem” is created out of thin air, which simply leaves the player no choice and equips his future: he must go where he is lured. He has no options here, but he will be fine there. In order to withstand such pressure, certain efforts are needed.
If the virtual “Galatasaray” stubbornly leads Zakharyan and is ready to accept even in the recession of his career, then he intends to pick up Chalov on the rise. Signs of the intermediaries’ activity, of course, were found already in the very first message: the news about the negotiations with Fedor himself seemed to be about to finish, while requests from club to club had not even started yet.
Control over transfers
Turkish football and near-football figures are conducting an openly aggressive information campaign against our players. There is clearly a basic setting there that for football players from Russia, Turkey is now, if not the only, then the main portal to international football. In the football trade, she is trying to play the role of the main intermediary and become the main beneficiary. Those who are not useful in Turkish clubs, they will be ready to rebuild in other leagues.
Do we need it? Ours (at least some of them) in principle want to go somewhere and try their luck somewhere. These players should be as receptive as possible to messages from Turkey. A really strong season spent at Fatih by Magomed Ozdoev can serve as an additional advertisement. His example is a direction indicator for those who were already at Zenit in the Russian Championship and do not have the opportunity to grow further within the country.
“Fatih” or people around him are excellent entrepreneurs. They did not waste time, and now the news is already blooming that Alexander Kokorin can join Ozdoev. “But what is the Cypriot championship for such a talent?”, as the initiators of this transfer rumor would like to tell us. Meanwhile, both Ozdoev and Kokorin will have to confine themselves to the framework of the Turkish championship. The club became the seventh at the end of the season, and European cups do not shine for it.
“Turkish European Cups”: not all inclusive
13th place in the last Turkish championship was taken by Antalyaspor, in which Fedor Kudryashov, after a back surgery and a record quick spring rehabilitation, ended the season as a substitute. And once he became a vice-champion with this club! Fedor has a unique collection of football silver in general: six Russian sets, one Turkish, consolation prizes in the Turkish Cup, as well as in one Turkish and two Russian Supercups. In total – 11 silver medals.
And Galatasaray, the newly-baked champion of Turkey, cannot guarantee the coveted Champions League for Zakharyan and Chalov: he only gets into the second qualifying round according to the rating, that is, to enter the group, he must pass three opponents. Yes, like European cups. But this prospect could look tempting only if we had no interest in the Russian Championship. And we are interested!
