The departure of Lichka will not affect the fate of Orenburg in any way, Oreshchuk believes

The former sports director of Dynamo Moscow, Roman Oreshchuk, told RB Sport that the departure of coach Marcel Lichka from Orenburg would not greatly affect the fate of the Ural club.

On Thursday, the 45-year-old Czech specialist signed a contract with Dynamo for the 2023/24 season with the possibility of an extension for another two years. Orenburg appointed Jiri Yaroshik to the post of head coach.

– The departure of Lichka will not affect the fate of Orenburg in any way, – says Oreshchuk. – In this team, the leading role is played by foreigners, Argentines. And, you understand, everything is in order there, there is an excellent sports director – Dmitry Andreev, who has good contact with the players. The new Orenburg coach Jiri Yaroshik has been in contact with Lichka for a long time. Yaroshik has an understanding of what the team played and how Lichka worked with it. They selected a new coach based on the experience of the previous one. As far as I know, Lichka participated in the consideration of the candidacy. Therefore, I think the departure of the coach will not greatly affect Orenburg. They will play the same football and everything will be the same as it was. It was not Lichka who selected the players for the team, but the sports director Andreev. He is a football guy, talented. Continue selection in the same spirit. So I don’t expect big changes.

– That is, it cannot be said that Lichka was like a nail in Orenburg, on which the whole club was hung up and his success depended on the Czech coach?

– Probably not. Lichka was the main link, but the pyramid, the organization of the club will not fall apart without Marcel – that’s for sure.

Lichka has been coached by Orenburg since the summer of 2020. Last season, the club repeated the best result for the team in the RPL – seventh place in the standings.

Liverpool have agreed a contract with Guehi

Captain of Crystal Palace Marco Guehi set to join Liverpool at the end of the season. The England international’s contract expires in June and there are no plans to renew it.

Liverpool had already made a bid of £35 million in the last window, but the Londoners canceled the deal just hours before the transfer window closed. Sky Sports reports that Guehi remains interested in a move to Anfield and that a “gentleman’s agreement” has been reached between the two parties for the move to take place in the summer.

However, the situation could still change if Palace decide to cash in during the January transfer window. In addition to Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also interested in Guehi, who will make an offer next month.
