Former CSKA Moscow goalkeeping coach Vyacheslav Chanov reacted to statements by FIFA and UEFA representatives about the possible return of Russian clubs and teams to the international arena.
On Thursday, UEFA President’s National Association Adviser Josef Klement expressed hope that Russian clubs and national teams would soon return to playing at the international level.
– I believe with pleasure in the return of Russian football to the international level. I think it will be the right decision. There were sanctions, but Russian coaches continued to study and receive licenses from UEFA – nothing stopped. Apparently, politics interferes, and there was pressure on UEFA. The sooner the return, the better. Footballers want to show themselves in the international arena, to be appreciated not only by games in the championship, – quotes the words of Chanov “Championship”.
Russian teams and clubs do not compete in international competitions due to a ban by FIFA and UEFA due to the situation in Ukraine.
