Former Premier League club striker Marcus Bent won a lawsuit against bankruptcy trustees who tried to take possession of the athlete’s London property, according to the Evening Standard.

The plaintiffs’ side believed that the former striker, who was declared bankrupt four years ago, owns a house in the UK capital. Bent, who has played for several Premier League clubs, insisted the property belonged to his 19-year-old daughter.

Bent bought the house for his daughter in 2006 and wanted it to be held in trust until she turned 18.

On Friday, the judge ruled in favor of the 45-year-old Englishman. The court stated that the house “does not belong to the bankrupt’s property.”

Bent played for Everton, Birmingham, Charlton, Sheffield United and a number of other teams.
