In the US, a fan traveled 1,200 miles to Philadelphia hoping to see star rookie Lionel Messi in the match between local club Philadelphia Union and Inter Miami.
However, the Argentine striker will not appear in the team in the next matches. Messi’s debut for the club is expected to take place in the Leagues Cup match against Cruz Azul on July 21. The football player these days is at home in Argentina.
The unlucky fan was spotted in the stadium with a banner that read: “I drove 1,200 miles to see the best football player of all time.” The last two words were marked with the corresponding emoticons.
The match itself ended with the victory of the home team with a score of 4:1. Inter Miami lost in the seventh game in a row.
