Wendel’s agent said that the player has not yet returned to Russia due to health problems with a family member

Thiago Ribeiro, an agent for Zenit midfielder Wendel, said that the Brazilian has not yet returned to the location of the St. Petersburg club, as one of his family members is experiencing health problems.
Zenit started training on Friday, Wendel has not yet arrived at the club’s location. The chairman of the board of Zenit, Alexander Medvedev, previously told Match TV that the Brazilian would join the team in the near future.
From July 1 to July 15, Zenit will take part in the international PARI Premier Cup with Fenerbahce, Neftchi and Red Star. All games of the PARI Premier Cup can be watched live on Match TV and MATCH PREMIER TV channels.
“Wendel has not yet returned to Zenit due to health problems with one of the family members,” Wendel’s agent was quoted by journalist Fabio Aleixo on Twitter.
Wendel made 33 appearances for Zenit last season, scoring nine goals and providing five assists.
