“Akinfeev is the brightest, he helped out at the right moments. There was no one else to consider ”- Masalitin about the best player of CSKA

Former CSKA striker Valery Masalitin agreed with the opinion of the fans, who recognized goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev as the team’s best player last season.

The 37-year-old goalkeeper received 57% of the fan vote. The second place according to the results of the survey was taken by the forward Fedor Chalov (26%), the third was the midfielder Ivan Oblyakov (6%).

– Fans recognized Igor Akinfeev as the best player of last season. Do you agree with their choice?

I don’t think there was anyone else to consider. He is the brightest. Stably spent the season, rescued at the right time. He was especially successful in the Russian Cup final.

– Chalov and Oblyakov entered the top 3. What does your trio look like?

– Moises could well compete with Oblyakov. Ivan started well, then he had a small failure. At the end of the season, he again returned to his previous level. Moises had a smooth season. At first he played a lateral, and then he was put on defense, where he also looked decent.

— In the summer, Moises may have a competitor. Mario Fernandez will return to CSKA. Are you happy with this reunion?

— He normally parted ways with the club last year. It will be necessary to see in what form he will return. After the New Year, he will become a free agent. Nababkin, Gayich and Glebov can play in his position. Much will depend on the scheme chosen by the coaching staff, and on the state of Mario himself, – quotes Masalitin from Euro-football.ru.

CSKA last season took second place in the championship of Russia.

Bulykin named the position that Spartak needs to strengthen

Former Russian national football player Dmitry Bulykin expressed his opinion on how Spartak could strengthen during the winter window.

What kind of player does Spartak need in the winter transfer window? First of all, another goalscoring striker. They are already in a good position and can fight for the championship, but due to the atmosphere in the team there were disagreements.

Now we need a good coach who unites them with a single goal and task. If I were in Spartak, I would find another goalscoring striker in the winter and fight for the championship.

Amorim explains Casemiro’s surprise substitution against Newcastle

Mentor Manchester United Reuben Amorim he said he replaced the midfielder Casemiro during the 1–0 win over Newcastle United because he felt the Brazilian would “struggle” with the intensity of the second half.

Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte formed United’s midfield duo in the absence of Bruno Fernandes, who missed the match with a hamstring injury, but Amorim replaced the Brazilian with Leni Yoro in the 61st minute.

After seeing his number on the substitution board, Casemiro pointed to himself and was disappointed with Amorim’s decision to replace him so early in the match.

Asked to explain Casemiro’s substitution, Amorim replied: “At that moment I didn’t want to shoot [Матеуса] Cunho because he is the only one who allows us to be creative and I put him in position number 10. Jack [Флетчер] it was fresh and could continue, Manu [Угарте] he was cooler than Casemiro. In the end we decided to replace him because they were making a lot of quick passes and I felt that at that point he would have difficulty.”
