– At the general meeting of the RPL clubs, you suggested that the clubs postpone the discussion of refereeing issues until the end of the championship. When will this meeting take place?
– Not certainly in that way. Refereeing was not to be discussed at the general meeting. The agenda included the issue of compensation for refereeing expenses, but its discussion was postponed. The clubs also had a desire to talk in general about refereeing, but we considered it wrong to discuss this issue in the midst of the fight for medals and maintaining residence in the RPL at the general meeting of clubs, so we proposed to meet in the RFU in a more relaxed atmosphere at the end of the season.
Now that the clubs have solved their tournament tasks, this meeting will be more effective and constructive. Discussion of a possible tightening of the limit for foreign players in the Russian Premier League (RPL) is not finished yet. The president of the Russian Football Federation told journalists this (RFU) Alexander Diukov.
The Ministry of Sports proposes to tighten the limit for foreign players by 2028 according to the “10 foreign players in the application, 5 on the field” scheme.
“The Ministry gave the football community, experts and specialists the opportunity to talk openly about this issue. As far as I understand, the discussion process continues,” Dyukov said.
