Former Spartak Moscow striker Valery Kechinov told RB Sport that he hopes that Milorad Mazhich, as head of the department of the referee committee of the RFU, will restore order in the judicial system.

On Tuesday, it was announced that Mažić became the head of the refereeing department of the RFU. The Serbian replaced Pavel Kamantsev, who will continue to work as chairman of the referee committee. The contract with the 50-year-old Majic was signed for two years with the possibility of an extension for another year.

– The referee’s question is completely incomprehensible to me. I sometimes do not find answers to everything that happens in our judiciary. If earlier there were some refereeing mistakes, we relied on the human factor, now nothing is clear at all. Especially with this “var” … Everyone is watching, we are watching, we see one picture, the judges see another. We understand and interpret it this way, they understand it differently. And in the end, no one can understand what is happening.

Is there hope for a new leader?

– I hope that he will come, put things in order and explain all these interpretations to us, at least to the fans. So that we understand how this or that violation is interpreted, so that it doesn’t happen, like last season and the year before, when the same moment was interpreted differently.

Majic is a former football referee. He has served in two World Cups, the 2016 UEFA Super Cup, the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup Final and officiated the 2018 Champions League Final.
