The ex-president of Lokomotiv, Nikolai Naumov, told RB Sport that the level of readiness of the railway workers for the season will be clear in the match of the third round of the RPL against CSKA.

Lokomotiv will play Rubin at home in the first round, and then go on a visit to Fakel. In the third round on August 4–6, an away derby with CSKA will take place.

– I think that Lokomotiv has a good calendar in the starting rounds. In the third – a game immediately with the grand, with CSKA, a derby. I think it’s good. We will immediately understand how Loko is ready for the season. But I don’t really like the first game against Rubin at home. I know how hard it will be, Rashid Rakhimov is there, I know how he builds the game. Probably will play on defense. And it will be very difficult for Lokomotiv.

– And “Torch” on the road – also not a gift?

“Definitely not a gift. But I think that Lokomotiv is able to deal with the Voronezh team. I repeat, Rubin at home annoys me much more, especially since the first game. I think it will be a tough, tough match. Few goals, few chances. I’m afraid it will end in a draw. And this, of course, is not very good,” Naumov said.

Last season, Lokomotiv scored 45 points and finished eighth in the WORLD RPL standings. CSKA became the owner of the Russian Cup and took the silver medals of the championship.
