“If Karpin said that we do not have a team to fight for medals, then it is so” – Melekhin

Rostov central defender Viktor Melekhin told Metaratings.ru that he is not offended by the words of the team’s head coach Valery Karpin that the team’s composition does not allow it to compete for medals.
– Karpin always underestimates. He said before that the task of “Rostov” is not to fly out. Now he gave you the same installation. What do you expect from the team and from yourself?
– I would like to win every match and take a high place in the table. I don’t want to guess how everything will turn out, but we must make every effort to please the fans, ourselves, the management and the entire coaching staff.
– But don’t you feel offended that Karpin keeps saying that Rostov doesn’t have a team to fight for medals? It seems that he belittles the capabilities of his players.
– Don’t know. Georgievich is a coach with great experience: if he says some things, then everyone here listens to him. If he said so, then it really is so, and we have nothing to be offended, – said Melekhin.
Last season, Rostov took fourth place in the WORLD RPL. The team will start the new season with a home match against Fakel.
