The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) recalled that it prohibits Crimean clubs from participating in competitions under the auspices of the Russian Football Union (RFU).

Earlier, the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) called on UEFA and the International Football Federation (FIFA) to pay attention to the inclusion of Crimean clubs in the Russian football system and to review the status of the Russian Football Union (RFU) in organizations.

Yalta “Rubin” and “Sevastopol” received certificates of the Football National League (FNL) for participation in the competitions of the division “B” of the Second League.

— With regard to the situation in Crimea, in accordance with the decision of the UEFA emergency committee dated August 22, 2014, the UEFA Executive Committee decided to ban Crimean clubs from participating in competitions organized by the Russian Football Union (RFU) from January 1, 2015, and also consider this the region is a “special zone” for football purposes until further notice, the UEFA press service told the Match TV website.

Before the start of the next season, the Second League was reformed. The tournament will be held in two divisions: “A” and “B”. Division “A” will unite 20 teams, and the competition will be held according to the “autumn-spring” system, division “B” will include more than 60 clubs, the tournament will be held according to the “spring-autumn” system. A transitional tournament will be held from July-August to November 2023.

The first matches of Sevastopol and Yalta Rubin in the Second League are scheduled for July 16.
