The distance from Still to Hodgson is short.
The English coaching school has gone through different times. Now in England itself, the prevailing view is that the institution of coaching in the country is on the rise. There is a reason to evaluate those mentors who are considered the best in Foggy Albion. The authoritative portal FourFourTwo has made its assessment and we will look and agree with the position of this or that specialist or not.
10 Neil Warnock
A true legend of English football. Warnock remains a strong manager nearly 16 years after announcing he was finally retiring from football. And Warnock’s last club was Huddersfield, with whom he fought last season in the league. Warnock turns 75 this year, so he has a much better chance of “retiring.” It is curious that he has risen to the elite of English football eight times with his teams, and this is a record.
9.Michael Carrick
Ex-Manchester United players aren’t always good managers, but Carrick is off to a flying start. In just over mid-season, Carrick took Middlesbrough out of the Championship relegation zone and into the playoffs. And although his team lost to Coventry in the semi-final, the former midfielder Manchester Unitedwho also managed to coach the mancunians, was able to instill trendy football in the team.
8. Mark Pettirossi
Another Manchester United player. He just defeated Carrick this year. Robins, whose goal in 1990 would have saved Alex Ferguson from being sent off Manchester Unitedtook Coventry to the Championship play-offs, working their way up from League 2. And almost made it to Premier League. His team were held by Luton on penalties. But in Robins’ six years in Coventry, the team went from strength to strength.
7. It will still be
It is especially worth looking at, because outside of England there are not so many English specialists in sight. And Still is still young and has bright talents. So the praise that rings out to the Reims coach is well deserved. He led a modest side to an 11th-place finish and particularly distinguished himself with an 18-game unbeaten streak. Still was born in Belgium to English parents. He is only 30, five years younger than his team captain. In fact, Will has fulfilled a dream for many fans: he has transformed his obsession with the football coach into a real career.
6. Paul Heckingbottom
Swapping inspirational Chris Wilder at Sheffield United for Heckingbottom seemed like a gamble. But time was given to him, and the faith fully justified itself. In the 2020/21 season he failed to keep the team in the Premier League but took them back there, finishing second in the league. He now he tries to resist again Premier League.
5 Sean Dyche
Possibly one of the most underrated coaches in the world. Dyche has had success with every club he has worked with, from Watford to Burnley to Everton. The latter was probably the toughest test of Dyche’s coaching career. However, he was able to pull ‘taffy’ out of the relegation zone and keep them inside Premier League.
4. Rob Edwards
It took Edwards seven months at Luton to craft one of the greatest comeback stories in modern football. He dragged the team inside Premier Leaguealthough just over a year ago he managed the club in League 2. And now, after defeating Coventry on penalties in the League play-off final, he has guided Luton to Premier League for the first time since 1992.
3.Roy Hodgson
This is a veteran even by coaching standards. Hodgson will start his next Premier League season in charge of Crystal Palace. And this is the oldest manager in the four major leagues in England. Not bad for a specialist who retired at the end of the 2020/21 season. The former England and Liverpool manager took charge of Watford following the announcement, but he has failed to keep the club Premier League. And then he returned to Crystal Palace again to effectively save this team from relegation.
2. Gareth South Gate
This is England’s most successful manager since Alf Ramsey, who won the 1966 World Cup. Southgate restored England’s confidence by guiding them to the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup. And three years later, England reached the final of the European championship. Probably eliminated in the quarterfinals world Cup-2022 can be considered a step backwards. But there are plenty of reasons to believe this team can end the 58-year-old injury. Southgate is believed in England, which in itself is worth a lot, because there mass media and the fans are ready to eat any coach for the slightest reason, even if there isn’t a particular reason. But Gareth endured it all. And he will take a new assault on the heights.
1.Eddie Howe
He made quite a name for himself by taking Bournemouth from League 2 to the Premier League. And was able to save a place Premier League for this team for several seasons. At Newcastle, Howe took his reputation to a new level. Howe succeeded Steve Bruce as 1940s manager. This came shortly after Newcastle found wealthy new owners. You might expect them to start throwing money left and right and hire a trainer with a big name. But while the bosses of the “forty” behave prudently and coldly. Howe’s bet worked out great. He was able to restore Newcastle to elite status and return the team to the Champions League in a highly competitive environment without stocking up on global stars.
