“Consider it my ex.” The ex-coach of the Russian national team was humiliated by a scandalous footballer

The conflict between George Despotovich and Leonid Slutsky has reached a new level.
Some time ago, the football community vigorously discussed the conflict between George Despotovich and Leonid Slutsky in Rubin. The coach was unhappy with the Serb, who was often injured and had a long recovery time, and planned to abandon his services. The despot, in turn, did not want to lose wages. And so the scandal was born, which subsided only after the departure of George from Rubin.
Both the player and the coach did not give detailed comments on this matter. Despotovich was the first to speak, and in his trademark outrageous manner.
Former bosses got it to the fullest!
“The suitcase was thrown out of the hotel”
In an interview with the Sport24 portal, the striker recalled the day he left Rubin. According to him, in the morning he talked with the sports director of the club, Oleg Yarovinsky, who said that he was counting on Despot. However, then something went wrong.
– Two hours later, my suitcase was thrown out of the hotel and they told me to go look for a new team. They didn’t even let me say goodbye to the guys, to have dinner together in the end,” George remembered.
Despotovich also did not have a relationship with Yarovinsky. According to the footballer, they can smile in the eyes and at the same time think badly of each other. But the main flurry of criticism still fell on Slutsky.
Played with an injury
In particular, Despot blamed the coach for his injuries. The striker, being in Rubin, injured the calf muscle and was treated for a long time. According to him, he even had to play on injections.
– Slutsky does not understand what it is like for football players to play through pain, on injections and injuries, because he himself did not play. And the coach needs to know that. It was because of him that I played for so many months with a very serious injury. And then they said “thank you” to me – they threw the suitcases out into the street, – said Despotovich.
After leaving Rubin, the Serb could not find a team for himself. After some time, the Tula Arsenal came to him, with which they managed to agree on employment. Despot connected the pause in his career with the intrigues of his former employer. Allegedly, the Kazan club spread information about the difficult nature of the football player, and no one wanted to get involved with him.
“This is my ex”
At the same time, the guy has no complaints about Rubin – he addresses all questions only to Slutsky and Yarovinsky. When they left Kazan, Despotovich, by his own admission, even opened champagne with joy.
There were also harsher statements in the interview with the Serb. For example, he believes that Slutsky treats people like animals, and there is more feminine than masculine in him.
– Slutsky is 70% a girl, 30% a man. Consider this my ex: we broke up because love has passed, – the footballer issued such a confession.
Remember with a “kind” word
It is interesting that George, despite all the adventures in Kazan, was one of the leaders in Slutsky’s team. In 35 matches, he scored 15 goals, and the revival of Rubin as a combat-ready unit that could return to the leaders of the Russian championship was associated with his figure. However, these plans were not destined to come true: the Serb left, and Rubin fell into the First League and spent one season there. Obviously not what fans and experts were counting on.
Slutsky, by the way, is not the only coach who got it from Despotovich. In his interviews, he skated around Vladimir Fedotov and Oleg Kononov, with whom he worked at Orenburg and Arsenal, respectively. But one feels that the old “love” for Leonid Viktorovich has sunk deep and has not yet passed. In the future, perhaps, the Serb will remember the coach more than once with a kind word.
Leonid Slutsky himself did not comment on the conflict with George Despotovich. But maybe soon there will be more detailed information on the other side of this conflict?
