Former Spartak footballer Valery Kechinov admitted to Euro-Futbol.Ru that he does not see a place on the field that could be occupied by the newcomers of the Red-Whites Jesus Medina and Theo Bongonda.

On Wednesday, the Red-Whites announced the transfer of the 27-year-old Bongond, who previously played for the Spanish Cadiz. Earlier on Monday, the club signed a contract with CSKA midfielder Jesus Medina. The agreements of both players are calculated until June 30, 2026.

– Spartak announced the signing of a contract with Bongonda. This is a left-footed right winger. How would you rate this purchase?

– I think there are a lot of wingers in the team. We need to strengthen other positions. They took Medina. He is a left winger. Promes plays in this position in Spartak. Recovered Moses, who plays as a right winger. There is Ignatov. With a one-striker scheme, he also enters the field as a winger. There is Zinkovsky, who can play on the edge both on the right and on the left. If some positions are to be strengthened, then the flanks need it last. We saw that there are serious problems in defense. Especially in the second round they showed up. Therefore, we need a good central defender, plus a defensive winger would also not hurt. – How do you assess the strengthening of Spartak at the moment, if you also take into account Medina?

– It is clear that Abascal sees Medina in the squad, as well as Bongonda. But on the right is Moses, on the left is Promes. Therefore, I do not see a place on the field for these recruits. And our guys should compete with them. They also need to be given a chance. Otherwise, they will not progress.
