Hispanic Franco Artiga appointed head coach of the Kazan football club “Rubin”. This was reported by the press service of Kazan residents.

The agreement with the specialist will last until the summer of 2027. On January 13, Rubin announced his resignation as head coach Rashida Rakhimova.

Artiga is 49 years old; on January 10 he left his post as head coach of the Angolan club Petro Athletica; the specialist has led the team since June 2025. From June 2024 to April 2025, the Spaniard coached Khimki near Moscow. In January 2023 he headed the Moscow Rodina-2, and in October of the same year he was appointed head coach of the main team. At the end of the 2023/24 season, Rodina took fifth place in the First League table and the Spaniard left the team. From 2010 to 2021 he worked in Barcelona’s Spanish academy.

Rubin is in 7th place in the Russian Premier League table. The team has 23 points after 18 rounds.
