Obolsky: “I don’t worry that the party life of Ibiza will drag out, I have already been to Sochi”

Russian striker Nikolai Obolsky told RB Sport that he decided to sign a contract with Ibiza because the club was more interested in him than Deportivo from A Coruña.

The contract with the 26-year-old player was signed until the end of the 2023/24 season with the possibility of extension.

“There are no expectations, your expectations are your problems, as they say,” Obolsky laughs. “We just have to work to the maximum.

– Why did you choose this club, and not Deportivo, from which there was also an offer?

– From “Deportivo” there was no such interest as from “Ibiza”, they did not reach a specific proposal. In fact, there was not enough time to even discuss the contract with them, as he accepted the offer of Ibiza. I can note the good infrastructure, the team sets specific goals, the club was very interested in me.

— Are you not worried that the active party life of the island will drag out?

— I was already in Sochi, and we reached the Premier League, so I’m not worried.

Earlier, Obolsky left the club of the third Spanish division Cultural Leones. He played 36 games last season, scoring nine goals and providing six assists.

In the new season, Ibiza will play in the third division of Spain.
