“I bet on the victory of Zenit in the Super Bowl, but maybe a penalty shoot-out” – Pogrebnyak

The former striker of Zenit and the Russian national team Pavel Pogrebnyak told RG that he considers St. Petersburg to be the favorites of the match for the OLIMPBET Russian Super Cup with CSKA, but does not rule out a penalty shootout in which the army team may be stronger.

– I consider Zenit to be the favorite of the upcoming meeting. Until recently, they celebrated the victory in the championship, now they have the opportunity to win another trophy. Of course, the St. Petersburg team has problems. To be honest, in the last friendly matches of the tournament in St. Petersburg, there was not much creativity in the attacking game. As for CSKA, I saw them in fights with Dynamo, and they didn’t make the best impression. Jesús Medina left, there is, as I understand it, interest in Fyodor Chalov, Jorge Carrascal, Baktier Zainutdinov. I do not expect many goals today, maybe a penalty shootout. If it comes to penalties, then we all remember what Igor Akinfeev did at the World Championship against Spain and in the Cup final with Krasnodar. And yet I bet on the victory of Zenit, – said Pogrebnyak.

In the last three matches for the country’s Super Cup (2020, 2021, 2022), Zenit won, beating Lokomotiv twice and Spartak once, respectively.
