Zenit beat CSKA on penalties and won the Russian Football Super Cup for a record eighth time

Petersburg “Zenit” on penalties beat Moscow CSKA in the match for the OLIMPBET Russian Football Super Cup.
The main time of the meeting, held in Kazan at the Ak Bars Arena stadium, ended with the score 0:0. In the penalty shootout, the Zenit players turned out to be more accurate – 5:4.
The Petersburg club won the Russian Super Cup for the fourth time in a row and for a record eighth time in history. CSKA has seven titles.
The match in the capital of Tatarstan was attended by 40,876 spectators.
The new season of the Russian Championship starts on July 21. “Zenith” in the first round on July 22 will meet on the road with the Nizhny Novgorod “Pari NN”, CSKA will play on the same day in Yekaterinburg with the “Ural”.
