“A set of good performers does not guarantee Spartak a good team” – Chernyshov

The former head coach of Spartak, now working in the Serbian club Radnichki, Andrey Chernyshov, appreciated the possible transfer of the defender of the Serbian national team Strahinja Erakovich to the Moscow club.

Earlier it was reported that the Serbian club requires at least 6 million euros for a 22-year-old football player. This amount is ready to pay “Spartak” and “Zenith”, which are actively fighting for the player.

– Could a defender from the Serbian championship strengthen Spartak?

— There are a lot of high-class and individually strong players. It is no coincidence that the players of the Serbian national team play in the leading championships. You can make another team of players who play in the championships are not from the top 5: Belgium, the Netherlands and so on. There are a lot of good players, but the main thing is not to make a mistake and hit the mark with these players. It’s hard for me to say something about Erakovich, because I didn’t follow him closely.

– Doesn’t it bother you that a promising defender is going from Serbia not to Europe, but to Russia?

– Why not, if they give good money? Not every European club is ready to pay big money for players now. You see what’s going on in Saudi Arabia right now. Everyone went there, exchanged the Champions League, their national teams in order to earn good money. If a Russian club gives a good salary and pays well for a transfer, then why not? Now the world has changed – there are no values, as they used to say, that they want to play in the leading clubs in Europe, to win European competitions. Now everyone looks only at financial conditions and does not look at what kind of country it is.

– Spartak seriously strengthened in the summer. Will he be able to compete for the championship next season?

Before the season, all teams are equal. It is clear that there are favorites and outsiders. A set of good performers does not guarantee a good team. We need to unite them all, fit them into one system. The fact that there are many good players in the team is a big plus. And the task of the coaching staff is to dispose of this good material. “Spartak” a priori should always fight for the highest places – victory in the championship, victory in the Cup. Of course, a big plus is the arrival of such high-class players, but, once again, this is not a guarantee of creating a good team. This requires time and coaching art, – Chernyshov is quoted by Sport Day by Day.

Eraković joined Crvena Zvezda in 2019 and made 107 appearances for the club. The player also has 5 matches and one goal for the Serbian national team.

Bulykin named the position that Spartak needs to strengthen

Former Russian national football player Dmitry Bulykin expressed his opinion on how Spartak could strengthen during the winter window.

What kind of player does Spartak need in the winter transfer window? First of all, another goalscoring striker. They are already in a good position and can fight for the championship, but due to the atmosphere in the team there were disagreements.

Now we need a good coach who unites them with a single goal and task. If I were in Spartak, I would find another goalscoring striker in the winter and fight for the championship.

Amorim explains Casemiro’s surprise substitution against Newcastle

Mentor Manchester United Reuben Amorim he said he replaced the midfielder Casemiro during the 1–0 win over Newcastle United because he felt the Brazilian would “struggle” with the intensity of the second half.

Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte formed United’s midfield duo in the absence of Bruno Fernandes, who missed the match with a hamstring injury, but Amorim replaced the Brazilian with Leni Yoro in the 61st minute.

After seeing his number on the substitution board, Casemiro pointed to himself and was disappointed with Amorim’s decision to replace him so early in the match.

Asked to explain Casemiro’s substitution, Amorim replied: “At that moment I didn’t want to shoot [Матеуса] Cunho because he is the only one who allows us to be creative and I put him in position number 10. Jack [Флетчер] it was fresh and could continue, Manu [Угарте] he was cooler than Casemiro. In the end we decided to replace him because they were making a lot of quick passes and I felt that at that point he would have difficulty.”
