Former Amkar striker Martin Yakubko is sympathetic to the desire of the players to earn money, but he believes that it is worth going to the UAE or Qatar for earnings, and not to the main competitor of his team.
Earlier, midfielder Jesus Medina moved from CSKA to Spartak. The contract with the 26-year-old midfielder runs until the summer of 2026.
“You see, people just go after the dough. I also understand football players, when they offer good money, a career does not last so long. People go to the Emirates or to Qatar. But when they move inside one country to one of the main rivals from the same city, this is already … I don’t know, it all depends on the person, on how he evaluates himself. But it seems to me that sometimes honor is more important than money. It’s about respect for both the fans and the team. People are different – someone can do this, but someone can not, – Yakubko told RB Sport.
Medina has been playing for CSKA since January 2022. As part of the army club, the footballer became the owner of the Russian Cup.
The new season of the MIR RPL starts on July 21 with the Dynamo-Krasnodar match. Match TV will show live three matches of the first round: Lokomotiv – Rubin (July 22, 17:15), Akhmat – Sovetov Wings (July 22, 19:45) and Sochi – Baltika (July 23, 19:45).
