The former general director of Ufa, Shamil Gazizov, told Sport24 that he left the Ufa club without leaving debts to the team, and this is a rare story for Russian football.

Gazizov left the post of general director of Ufa in June. The statement noted that he took the blame for the team’s results last season, following which it was relegated to the Second League.

– You wanted to go down to the Second League when you flew out of the RPL.

– Yes, it was necessary to calmly fall into the Second League, regroup there and take a step forward.

“Then why did you stay?”

“The decision was made to stay.

– On what basis was the decision made?

— On the basis of certain agreements.

– With the Republic?

– Certainly. Once again: not a single football player, not a single specialist made claims to the club related to the payment of his labor. And the obligations of the club were fulfilled to all the players, contractors. We don’t owe anyone. It’s top, trust me! No one in Russia has done this.

– What exactly didn’t you do? Did you leave the club without debt?

— Yes, a very rare story for our football.

Gazizov was previously appointed general director of Dynamo Makhachkala.
