Former Spartak coach Valery Gladilin told Euro-Futbol.Ru that Zenit had chosen the right tactics by intercepting defender Strakhinya Erakovich from the Red-Whites.

On Monday, the media reported that Spartak had already agreed on the transfer of Crvena Zvezda defender Strahinja Erakovic. However, according to Maxbet Sport, Zenit St. Petersburg made a better offer.

“This is a purely professional business. There shouldn’t be any resentment here. The Zenith selection service just works harder. It is clear that Spartak needs a central defender. But Zenit also needs a good defensive player for the future, and the St. Petersburg team used the right tactics. They take a football player and weaken the opponent’s squad. This is a professional decision, and there should not be any emotions about this.

– It turns out that Zenit intercepted Kovalenko from Lokomotiv, and Fernandez from CSKA. Now Spartak has Erakovich. These are not the top players. Why are they St. Petersburg?

– There is no need to look for additional subtexts. Selective work in progress. This is fine. This means that the Zenit team, which deals with transfers, works harder than the army, Spartak and locomotive teams. These clubs must first sign the players, and then give it to the press. And then everyone has already trumpeted everywhere that such and such a team wants to sign a player. And in fact, even before the start of the season, Zenit outperformed its competitors in terms of selection. And given that he has a set game and a good selection of players, it will be difficult to compete with him.

– Kovalenko, Fernandez and Erakovic do not look like the main players. Were they bought at the store?

Fernenades is a strong footballer, professional and can play in different positions. He will strengthen the team. This is not some kind of ballast, but a player well known to everyone.

22-year-old Erakovic is a graduate of Red Star. The defender has been playing for the main team since 2020.
