Jikia: “Even a day at Spartak is a great happiness”

The captain of Spartak Georgiy Jikia told RB Sport that playing for Spartak is happiness for him, and he doesn’t even think about a possible offer from Zenit.

– What needs to happen for you to answer “yes” to the offer of “Zenith”, given the fact that you have a year left of the contract with “Spartak”?

– Everything related to my contract: a year at Spartak is a great happiness. Believe me, even a day at Spartak is a great happiness. In addition, I will correct you – I do not have a year of contract, but a year plus one. And I plan to make sure I have that one more year. Therefore, two years at Spartak is a very good contract term.

– And yet – what should happen for you to answer “yes” to the proposal of the enemies of “Spartak” from St. Petersburg?

“I don’t even think about it. As much as you would like to hear any answer from me.

Last season, the 29-year-old central defender Jikia made 30 appearances for Spartak in all competitions and provided two assists.

Spartak in the 2022/23 season became the bronze medalist of the Russian Championship.
